Below is a page from Osborne’s January 2021 STOP Think! magazine, describing the success of a 54-hour Christmas possession to carry out important bridge strengthening works at the M25 Gade Valley Viaduct.
BS Steels has been working at the M25 Gade Valley Viaduct since 2015, first carrying out trials for strengthening works and, since 2017, strengthening the welds on the underside of the viaduct spans. More details and images can be seen in our project report M25 Gade Valley Viaduct Repairs.
Extensive experience already acquired through previous works, and of collaboration with all the partners involved, ensured a successful outcome of a very complex task within a tight timescale.
The CP Board is particularly proud to start this year with so many good news stories to celebrate, including:
Jane Guyett CBE, Connect Plus Chair
The completion of the Gade Valley Viaduct painting utilising a Christmas rail possession, involving logistics and teamwork worthy of the best military operation, finishing early and carried out over the holidays. ‘Above and beyond’ was the way it was described to me, resulting from attention to detail and extraordinary professionalism.
Excellent team work over the Christmas possession and in the planning, well done all of you on a successful piece of work. Thank you all.
Jamie Harrison (Osborne Highways Director)
This is fantastic news and a brilliant achievement! Well done to everyone involved in making this possession a success!
