A busy summer for BS Steels highlights steel’s versatility as a construction material, as well as the variety of BS Steels’s services to our client base.

Larger projects have included London Gateway’s reception building; Admirals Quay, Portsmouth; steelwork for highways and railways, including the award-winning railway bridge replacement at Marcon Place, Hackney; a major refurbishment at Great Windmill Street, Soho; and installation of freezer and chiller storage facilities, steel unloading docks and mezzanine unloading area for Ferryspeed in Jersey. Meanwhile, we continue to offer unrivalled support to local builders, contractors and industry in Portsmouth, Hampshire and beyond, with extensive steel stockholding, design and fabrication services.

Examples of recent assignments are featured in the gallery below. Note among others:

  • The variety of styles of staircase and railings, including an architect-designed combined stair, landing and floor balustrade, a fire escape and a typical office stairwell. BS Steels provides the expertise in drawing, fabrication and installation necessary to bring an architect’s drawing to reality. Nowhere is this more evident than the beautiful spiral staircases – one in stainless steel, one in mild steel – installed earlier this year at 131 Shoreditch High Street.
  • We have installed steel mezzanine floors for many different uses, adding capacity and versatility to our clients’ existing premises. In addition to the examples here, our recent project report on HMS Temeraire’s sports centre showed the transformational possibilities of an additional mezzanine level.
  • The motocross starting-gate: we are always up for the unusual!

Investments in our workshop, stockholding and office facilities have all added to a busy summer, and place us in an ever stronger position to serve all our clients.
