Drivers along the A2, looking northwards between Dartford and Gravesend, may have noticed a curved steel structure emerging on the skyline.
This is the steel superstructure of North Kent Community Church, in the new community of Springhead Park, Ebbsfleet, between Gravesend and Dartford.
This series of photos shows various stages of the project, and above all, BS Steels’ erection team hard at work. A very clear impression of the overall shape and scale of the project is given by the 3D model produced in BS Steels’ office. We then feature ‘cutting the sod’ (courtesy T&B (Contractors) Limited) , the first piling, erection of the framework, manoeuvering the massive curved beams into place, complete framework, and block and beam flooring being installed.
We are very pleased to be working with T&B (Contractors) Limited, a business with particular expertise in religious buildings.

You can also visit NKCC’s ‘Building Blog’, showing all stages of the construction, from conception onwards.
